تتابع شبكة أطباء السودان بقلق بالغ تطورات موجة الحر الشديدة التي تشهدها ولاية البحر الأحمر شرقي البلاد، والتي أسفرت حتى اليوم عن 28 حالة إصابة بضربات شمس، تُوفي منهم خمسة أشخاص، بينهم امرأتان.
تؤكد الشبكة على أن هذه الحصيلة المقلقة تستدعي تعزيز التدابير الوقائية والاستجابة الصحية العاجلة، خصوصًا مع استمرار ارتفاع درجات الحرارة في المنطقة، وتدعوا الجهات المعنية إلى رفع جاهزية المستشفيات ومراكز الطوارئ في المناطق الأكثر تضررًا، تكثيف حملات التوعية حول مخاطر ضربات الشمس وسبل الوقاية منها.
كما تناشد الشبكة المواطنين بتجنب التعرض المباشر لأشعة الشمس في ساعات الذروة، وارتداء الملابس القطنية والخفيفة ذات الألوان الفاتحة، والحفاظ على ترطيب الجسم بشرب الماء بانتظام، التوجه الفوري لأقرب مركز طبي عند الشعور بأعراض مثل الصداع، الدوخة، ارتفاع الحرارة أو التعرق الشديد.
Sudan Doctors Network: Heatstroke Cases on the Rise in Red Sea State — 5 Deaths, Including 2 Women
The Sudan Doctors Network is closely monitoring with great concern the ongoing severe heatwave sweeping through the Red Sea State in eastern Sudan. To date, the heatwave has resulted in 28 reported cases of heatstroke, including five fatalities — among them two women.
The network emphasizes that this alarming situation necessitates strengthened preventive measures and an urgent health response, especially as temperatures continue to rise in the region. It calls on the relevant authorities to bolster the preparedness of hospitals and emergency centers in the most affected areas and to intensify public awareness campaigns about the dangers of heatstroke and methods of prevention.
The network also urges citizens to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours, wear light-colored cotton clothing, stay well-hydrated by drinking water regularly, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, fever, or excessive sweating.
