. تعرب شبكة أطباء السودان عن بالغ قلقها إزاء الأوضاع الإنسانية المتدهورة في معسكر “لقاوة” للنازحين بمدينة الضعين بولاية شرق دارفور، والذي يضم أكثر من 7,000 نازح، غالبيتهم من النساء والأطفال، حيث توفى خلال يونيو الماضي 13 طفلا جراء سوء التغذية والنقص الحاد للغذاء.وبحسب المعلومات التي توفرت لفريق الشبكة من داخل المعسكر فإن المعسكر إلى جانب نقص الغذاء الذي أدى إلى انتشار حالات الهزال الحاد، خاصة بين الأطفال، يتعرض النازحين لهجمات متكررة من قبل مجموعات مسلحة بصورة متكررة، مما يهدد أمن وسلامة سكانه ويزيد من تفاقم الأزمة الإنسانية. تدعو الشبكة المجتمع الدولي، والمنظمات الإنسانية، إلى التحرك الفوري لتوفير الغذاء والرعاية الصحية الأساسية للنازحين بالمعسكر، خاصة الأطفال والنساء الحوامل، مع تأمين المعسكر وحماية المدنيين من الهجمات المتكررة وضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية دون عوائق.تؤكد الشبكة أن الصمت إزاء ما يحدث في معسكر “لقاوة” بولاية شرق دارفور هو تواطؤ غير مباشر مع معاناة الأبرياء، وتهيب بجميع الأطراف لتحمل مسؤولياتها الأخلاقية لوقف هذه المأساة الإنسانية.Sudan Doctors Network: 13 Children Die in “Lagawa” IDP Camp in East Darfur Due to Malnutrition and Armed AttacksThe Sudan Doctors Network expresses its deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the “Lagawa” camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the city of El Daein, East Darfur State. The camp hosts more than 7,000 displaced persons, the majority of whom are women and children. Thirteen children reportedly died in June due to malnutrition and a severe shortage of food.According to information obtained by the Network’s team from within the camp, in addition to the lack of food—which has led to widespread acute malnutrition, especially among children—the displaced people are being subjected to repeated attacks by armed groups. These ongoing assaults threaten the safety and security of the camp’s residents and further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.The Network calls on the international community and humanitarian organizations to act immediately to provide food and basic healthcare to the camp’s residents, especially children and pregnant women. It also urges the protection of the camp and its civilians from recurring attacks and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.The Network affirms that remaining silent about what is happening in the “Lagawa” camp in East Darfur amounts to indirect complicity in the suffering of innocent people.
